Why some people don't like Icey-Tek? Basically Icey-Tek doesn't have all of the bells and whistles that some of the other brands have such as a ruler molded into the lid, or accessories for the average camper. It's finish is hand sanded at the end of production making each one unique. The external hinges are caulked after installation which is another trade mark of the Icey-Tek brand. The upside to this is that an actual human being inspects every cooler after it comes out of the mold ensuring that it passes all quality inspection test before it heads to the warehouse in the US. This testing includes a pressure test to make sure that each coolers is air-tight. They also check of all hinges, seals, and other important components to ensure the highest quality craftsmanship before leaving the plant.
NOTE: Darker colors do have a tendency to warp under extreme temperatures.
